Deane's Comments (rates this release 3.5/5.0)
The opening night of the European tour, and a fine show. A few rarities in the set and a decent performance make this a bootleg to consider, even if you weren't there. As for the soundchecks - the one from 4th October is marred somewhat by the fact that NPG music club members take the vocals on many of the songs ('Girls and boys' through to 'How come U don't call me anymore?'). Interesting to watch, no doubt, but not essential listening. Prince returns to vocal duties with 'The Ladder', which is excellent. The 5th October soundcheck is an improvement on that from the previous night though it's eclipsed by those from Copenhagen and Oberhausen.
