Excellent rehearsal of the first part of the Lovesexy show. This is soundboard and it's great! The packaging, though not fantastic, is nice and has many period images. Prince's mood is high and the performances here are excellent. For those of into rehearsals, as I am, this is a must have.

This is just an outstanding rehearsal. Though the content is better (in my opinion) on Prince's Erotic City, that is the only department that it tops this release. The sound quality and packaging are great, and the rehearsal itself is slammin'.

An excellent early rehearsal for the Lovesexy tour from Paisley Park. The quality of this soundboard recording is perhaps one of the better of any circulating 88 rehearsals and doesn't suffer from the hissing or background noise some others do. It is clear, sharp and superb.

The rehearsal itself is also one of the more interesting with many variations and differences from the eventual set-list which was chosen. Most noteworthy is the inclusion of a full length version of 'D.M.S.R' and a slightly abridged 'Soft & Wet' - neither of which were ever played on the tour. 'Controversy' is played in a similar vein to the Parade tour version and certainly begins almost identically. 'Dirty Mind' is interesting as it is rehearsed at nearly half the speed the tour version was performed. 'Bob George' is lacking many sound effects, however it does contain a number of instrument parts which appear to have been dropped for the actual tour.
Throughout the rehearsal Prince is directing the band, and is evidently in a playful mood with comments such as "Take pride in yourselves and your haircuts". The recording doesn't appear to incomplete (i.e. the 2nd half of the rehearsal isn't missing) as Prince clearly states that they are finished for the day at the end of 'Bob George' before listing all the things they have to work on in the following days rehearsal.

A fascinating insight and one of the best quality rehearsals in circulation. The packaging is of a very high standard with a nice picture-packed booklet, although lacking any real info.
