This sound quality on this disc is amazing! It documents Prince teaching the song Another Lonely Christmas to the band. Everyone seems to be in good spirits. At one point during the vocal rehearsal Prince yells out jokingly, 'do you know who the Rollng Stones are?' The package is pretty good for a release of this period (1989-90?). It includes a small fold out poster (10" x 10"), Although it is hard to hear the same song over and over again, if you have an interest in rehearsals or how the man builds a song thenthis is worth a listen. Also included are the official 7" & 12" versions.

It's nice to hear Prince so loose, but about half way thorugh this disc I always find myself reaching for the 'next' button on the cd player.

Prince played a couple of concerts in St. Paul just after Christmas 1984 and 'Another lonely Christmas' was played in both, so there's a good chance that he put himself and the Revolution through this rehearsal in preparation for those shows. A lot of the time is spent getting the individual parts of the song right though they do break off for an unexpected rendition of 'When the saints go marching in' (during which he admonishes Lisa for not knowing who the Rolling Stones are). The 12" version of 'Another lonely Christmas' has not been officially released on CD so it was a good choice to fill up a bit of space at the end of the disc.
